Tax on used trucks?

    Hi, I found out that theres no sales tax on used trucks in New Jersey, do you guys know if this is just a state thing or its like that everywhere?

    It's just a state thing. Other states have similar laws like OK and Ga that I can recall off the top of my head.

    also New Hampshire,but remember this if you go buy your truck out of state without paying sales tax,when you register it at your home state and they have a sales tax,that state wants you to pay them the sales tax.

    so if i purchase my tractor in IN, and pay their sales tax, then bring it to FL , DO i pay another sales tax or just a title reg. fee >?

    Actually, you need to look into the law a little further.

    I know that in Illinois you are required to pay sales tax on any vehicle even if bought from out of state. The state has an exemption for vehicles that are used commercially in interstate trade.
    Several other states could have the same exemption.

    Michigan as well I didnt pay sales tax because of the interstate commerce exemption.
