This is a dumb post I'm 22 and got more than most people that live any were around me I live Chicago there is no reason to have good grammar or speak like a scientist. The cps system sucks and the only way to better myself is to go back to school and get my Cisco certifications.

I see at least one of you committing the errors that this person just showed you. I was looking at some applications just this week. I'm in management training and the HR person said pick out 3 people out of this stack of 10 and tell me which you would hire. Ok I get the first 10 in the pile 12 and 3 were not complete no ref;s no past info just sloppy, now 7 left 4&5 were OK except you had to really work to read them My handwriting is pretty bad, but this was terrible. long story short I couldn't hire 3 people out of 10 because the rest were so obviously transparently full of bull. And I have probably committed most of the sins of this post. I thank you for putting it in writing.

Don't want me talking ####? Don't "forget" to pay me for 7 weeks at a time. Also, change the #### oil on your truck more often than every 40,000 miles (or actually you never changed it the entire time I drove it.) And no, it's not changing itself. Ok, technically it is, but when DOT has been writing you up for it for 3 years, fix it, stupid.

You know you still owe me $2,000 in back pay, right? Actually, why are you even in this business? You don't even know the difference between a lumber tarp and a steel tarp. I had to spend 20 minutes explaining it to you and you still didn't get it. And you've been doing this for seven years, what the hell.

Great post. In my 50+ yrs I'm sure I'm guilty of all at one time or another.

And saddly, my greatest battle was # 12

All the extra Sundays. The working till 9-10 pm.

It NEVER actually put more MEANINGFUL money in my bank account. It NEVER brought me closer to my wife and kids. It NEVER made Christmas or Birthdays more spectacular or more enjoyable. Etc.... NEVER !!! In the end it NEVER mattered. It only SEEMED like it TEMPORARILY !

In the end, for all you who are younger, ONLY family matters! It's YOU they want. Make your hometime count !!! It should be obvious to even a "brain-dead idiot" that being gone is part of the job! What I'm saying is, Make the time you have at home count. Make them GLAD your home. Presents only buy love so long. ESPECIALLY with kids!!!

    Thanks!

Yeah, been realizing I need to get out of this business for those reasons lately. 7 years on the road and not a bit ahead. Meanwhile sis is on track to land a job that pays $90k to start and all our friends show up in much nicer cars than mine. Little dude showed up the other day in a brand new Jag. They kept bugging me to go look at it. I refused. I didn't even want to look at it.

Get out of the company driver phase and drive for yourself fella. Take that step if you know what you're doing and you could make a lavish life for yourself and not have to run like a dog. There are many of our guys that work 6-7 months out of the year and take the rest off and live very comfortably.
