    Nice right?
Current customer story of the day:
    "Are you are broker?"
    "Yes"
"Here is a list of 40+ lanes to bid"
"OK - here you go." (after crap load of time spent on the phone with carriers/oo/brokers/friends)
"We are all set with brokers, thank you"

WTF? Why you got my bid in then?

You were used as a bargaining tool (no pun intended)... I usually bid only two lanes at a price low enough that they will take it if they are serious and if they don't then I know not to waste my time with them.

Yeah - I figured that. But the deal was kinda good and they ship 30-40 reefer loads a week from Chicago.
    Well, lesson learned.

Let me check - I do not have shippers who ship from Scranton, but I do have shippers who ship to Scranton.

Ya, but probably looking to load tomorrow. Been turning down cheap loads all day long. And I won't take less than $1500 to go to Boston. :)

That is one bad place to get out of if you don't have something pre arranged. I had some Needham Heights loads of Coke but paying not so great...

Yeah, I knew that coming in. I ran 270 miles empty into NC from the DC market to grab the load that I brought up here - $3.11/loaded mile, $2/mile with the d/h miles. Better rate than I'd have found in the Baltimore / DC market, so I jumped on it.

I can usually pick up a last minute 'hot' load with a decent rate out of this market if I wait around for 24 hours or so. Might have to wait longer now since it's so slow in Feb. And those $1.05 / mile loads to Cleveland and Columbus are almost looking pretty good right now hehehehe. Maybe I'll ask them if they'll add FSC onto that linehaul rate hehehe
