I don't have one. I'm not in that business, at least not yet.

By my calcuations, Mr Stanton, best case, drove 120K miles in a year, for $1.50 a mile, and claims 66 cents a mile expenses for that year, including fuel, truck, depreciation, insurance, repairs, maintenance and so on.

I'm impressed, because my best business case says I'm not driving a hotshot rig for under 80 cents a mile, and since I'm not a sadist, I'm not willing to sit the driver's seat more than 85,000 miles a year - I'd like some time off that's not sitting a hotel or motel or curled up on the truck seat.

Then again, Mr Stanton COULD drive something like an FL60, and have a sleeper, and in that case, having a 66 cent a mile expense cost blows my mind.

Or, it could be that he only drove 80K a year, for 2.25 mile, at $1 a mile expenses. For a pickup, that would seem to be somewhat reasonable, if it included a lot of hotel stays. For a big rig, that would be just wayyyyy too cheap. For those of you running pickups as hotshots, is averaging $2.25 / mile a likely proposition, considering deadhead miles, and so on?

    Silverado-01 Thanks this.

Well I hope you can understand why I'm not going to put my numbers on here.

When i was being dispatched the mileage rate was a little higher then it is today, and I was rolling steady. I put my trust in their experience to pick out the right freight and I made a good living. Thanks to them I'm still making a good living.

Gary himself would be the first one to tell you not to trust everything you read on these forums. Silverado getting caught up in his lies on here is a great example of that.

Yeah, and my experience with Gary says I don't really trust him, either.

As I think about this more... You're saying that back when rates were good, and there was lots of freight (a few years ago), that you drove constantly and made good money. So, perhaps Gary's dispatch wasn't any kind of "magic", as he sort of tries to make you think - at least not these days. And, most of those who are complaining are doing so about more recent years to current. And, your defense of M&H is based upon experience that's a bit out of date.

I see little inconsistency here to suggest that you're actually contradicting anyone's complaints, just asserting that some time ago, you did well, but you've not said why you left.

I'll tell you NEVER!!! only stupid people fall for his games and looks like you were taking or your really Gary himself making him look better than he really is.

Numbers don't lie I don't care what your making driving your 800 miles across a few states let's talk all miles and days worked. Gary always shows these post of loads paying $2.60/mi but what he don't post is it's five pics and six drops in a 500 mile radius on each end and takes two days to pick and two days to drop...
