I am so glad I came to this site! So full of useful information! I've been stuck roaming around trying to grab anything I can! Thank you teqntexas! I don't think Stevens or Millis has a pet policy. I am right now getting all my paperwork together for the new adventure. Hey, I don't know HOW to get my CDL permits BEFORE I go to the academy??? I don't know how, can you direct me? That would be great! Right now I am going to check out the site you posted and high five for the help!

Today I called Prime.... I told them I have gaps in my work history since I moved out in the boondocks and they said no they HAVE TO HAVE 2 years of work history within 3 years like a W9 paycheck? Well I have also a pilot car business but it is not consistent and so therefore I am going into trucking. I am going to try Central Refidgerated though! Thanks a mill!

i could be wrong @ stevens and the pet policy. either way, your gonna have to find a place to keep it while your at the academy as well as when your in your otr trainers truck.

you can download the texas cdl book here.. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/internetforms/Forms/DL-7C.pdf

don't worry about the haz-mat part or the doubles/triples or tanker. don't need those for ffe. study, study and study, take practice tests. (google cdl practice tests and you'll find lotsa free ones. don't ever PAY for a practice test, no need to.) the truckers report has some as well and thats about the only one i used.. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/cdl-practice-tests/

once ready for the test, head to your nearest texas dmv, wait in line tell them you want to get your cdl permit and are ready to take a few of the tests. they'll take your current liscence and give you a paper one. then start taking the tests. easy as that. :)

let me know if ya have any other questions, i'm a newbie but i'll try to help ya out.

    good luck!
