My first trainer experience was terrible, fresh out of school and the trainer from the jump said here's the keys, follow the GPS, I'm going to sleep. When he was awake he would be on his cell phone, yelling at whomever, yelling at me, sometimes confusing. After an 11 hour straight drive and him saying I can't stop for restroom, he refused to allow me I sleep, constantly waking me up for no reason. I immediate got off his truck first chance.

During the wait for the new trainer I was put in a hotel and got bit by a spider, which I'm allergic to, my whole neck was enflamed and severely painful. (Get to this point later)

the second trainer was alright, taught stuff but has only been doing the job for 6 months! Then during his home time I was put up in a flea mag hotel, which was infested with spiders, and I got bit again. ####, I think it had bed bugs too because I was red and itching all over for next several days.

Now because my trainer is observing lent he doesn't want to stop and eat, so I've been denied food for 48 hours. When I slept he was hitting brakes so hard I kept flying outta bed, and when I commented he made a statement he did it on purpose, it's party of the job.

Ive complained of this all to my SDM and they act like its nothing and tell me have a good day. If it wasn't for I can't afford the $300 bus ticket and 3 day ride back to west from Florida I would of been out of here!

I have seen some interesting things from werner trainers at truckstops before I don't think most of the guys that are trainers with any company know how to teach very well the good teachers are hard to find just try to pick up as much as you can and prepare for being on your own .

I would wait for him to go to sleep then start waking him up and play stereo loud. As far as eating goes the heck with that I AM STOPPING AND EATING.

I was once in your shoes, but I was trained by one of the Eagle drivers. I got lucky.

lol. blah. its a pretty sad state of affairs with how these companies do student training, sending a student with likely zero driving experience out with a driver that is only req to have 6 mo exp and run them as a team (there are rules but they are broken so frequently that theyre morelike a guideline than anything else).

my company within the last yr started doing student training, the trainer was paid salary (1200'ish) and they did solo driver miles but they ended that which is bs and now its 350$ + mileage which likely means that theyre running drivers "more" like teams, although i havent spoken to any trainers so i dont know, more than a few of the trainers dont train anymore due to the change.
