Unions? In Florida? Hiring? ...and of course not taking a nickel of the earned money off the member...Unemployment in Florida is somewhere around 20%. Should be higher but for most, funds ran out and they moved to states that have jobs.
Surfer, you have every right to say anything you want, but, it would be far more useful if you knew something about which you speak.

I'm not a driver (yet), and all I know about Con-way is what I've heard from a few drivers who dropped loads where I worked in retail, but you, sir, are in the right here. You have the right to be happy. Thanks for being forthcoming enough to post actual numbers to back you up.

Are you a team driver? Just asking because my wife and I are getting ready to do that. Thanks!

Just came across this one. Yes! Unions in Florida ARE hiring!! Need proof? For starters, call the Painters' Union in Miami; just for fun if not anything else. They are one of the lowest paying unions (low pay rates in Florida) but they ARE hiring. And, by the way, this union still pays MUCH better than ANY OTR gig. Or just google any other union of your choice. And by the way, roadrealtor, I do know a little something of which I speak, especially since I am heavily involved with a union. And of course you have to pay dues to a union; just think, for a whopping $28.00 a month, you actually get PAID health care, a pension, AND a good, living wage. You obviously have no clue as to what you are saying here other than what you are being told on your selected radio stations. You are dead wrong, sir.
Perhaps it would be much more useful if you overcame your ignorance before throwing down words at random in any of your future posts. -
Old dog, I'm gonna chime in here. You would be best off going to a truck stop and talking to the Conway drivers there. Seriously, they are struggling, mainly due to consistant, low miles. If you're going to do the team thing, ok; it does pay somewhat better, but in my opinion, not near enough to live in the conditions involved. When you hear about a team driver that says he made, for example, $1600.00 for a weeks' work, remember, this is not the norm every week. How much a team driver (or a solo driver) actually makes in an entire year would be much more accurate. That being said, talk in person to as many drivers as possible instead of making an important career choice based mainly on what you are reading on these posts. Some posters in here are in denial; some actually write FOR the big carriers; and some are just plain ignorant. Good luck!

It's good that we have surfer Joe to enlighten us.Obviously has a agenda
-
Just remember, while some are paid to post positive, there are others such as surfer joe who are paid to troll and post negative.if you read his other posts, it is clear he has.a agenda.

wow! thanks for the info

I'm guilty as charged; I do have an agenda and I make no secret about it.

You ever notice that rarely does anybody on these forums ever admit fault.I don't think I've ever read a post from a disjointed driver, where they admitted failure on their part.So many above average drivers being fired unjustly, their never late, no wrecks, always going above and beyond, yet still fired, mad, quit with bitterness.Interesting, yet they have a soap box.
Dinomite Thanks this.
