Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I would consider "crazy stupid" to be rude, in the context that it was used. I'm sure the agent did not mean that you are crazy and stupid, it's just that these days "crazy stupid" is a single phrase that means "ridiculous" or "exaggerated". I guess you would not have been offended if he said your rate was "ridiculous"?

Anyways, I think the $1,500 is spot on. You would have had to have sat on the load for a full day, and going into a bad area. I always thought that if someone offered me a load to somewhere I didn't want to go, I'd probably quote them a "crazy stupid" rate myself. lol. I don't want to go there, but I will for the right amount. Hell, if I was an O/O right now, and got offered a load to Kansas in that blizzard coming tomorrow/today, I would have quoted like $1million. Just for the humor. But seriously, I'd rather sit than go into a blizzard, for any amount of money except $1million+.

TQL calls me once per week wanting to haul my products (I am a manufacturer in the "dreaded" Northeast). Some of the worst salesmen I ever speak with. Every phone call starts out with them talking about the Patriots, or Red Sox or Celtics depending on time of year, lol. Yes TQL, because you're aware of the sports teams closest to me, I am using you to haul freight!

When I lose I mean I have $850.00 on the load (line haul + FSC) and I have to pay a truck $1200.00 to move it. Yes it is "out of pocket" loss. And when is it ok? when produce season hits, trucks make $3.50 to $4.00 per mile coming out of Fl and CA. That is making a killing because the lanes don't pay anywhere near that money. Doing an Atlanta to Miami for $2000.00 is making a killing, because the lane does not pay that.

I am a Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, Florida Panthers and (formerly) Miami Marlins fan. I hate every single one of your closest teams with a passion. But I will move your freight if you are looking to switch!!

PS: You should love the Marlins organization... after all it is kind of your farm league team!!

Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins........yup, all have won titles in recent years!

The Dolphins? LOL! I'd rather be a Jets fan than Dolphins, haha.

Why get offended? Seriously. The answer I have is "how close can you get?"

If that's all they got in it, the call lasts about 5 drama-free seconds after that.
