I could cover those with three furniture blankets in five minutes, throw on a tarp, drag them all the way to China and the paint would still look like brand new. All for $1.03 a mile plus snacks.

    SHC Thanks this.

I'm not taking them BACK to China. They got off the boat a few days ago and may still be sea sick :biggrin_2559:

i have a short way to go and a long time to git there.
Besides, I'm eating at the buffet at the Lee Hi T/A. I may not be able to climb on my stepdeck to put those tarps on :biggrin_2559:

    Unbelievable.

I looked at the bills after I stopped at the Loves in Richmond, KY. They clearly indicate to remove the tarps prior to entering the facility. Turns out some dumb driver fell off his flatbed. They don't want the liability of someone suing them lol.

So, in hindsight, and after talking to the forklift driver, I never should have tarped the load. They had two problems. One load of weights came in covered in salt and another covered in road tar. These weights are only in primer.

I called my contact number before going into the facility, but nobody answered. So just to be sure I kept the tarps on, but security wouldn't let me unload until the tarps were removed off the property. They let me back up to the street and I got them off in a hurry and shoved in the box.

Now I know the rest of the story :biggrin_25525:

That is par for the course, Tarp the junk for the trip but don't untarp on our property.. they must not understand why we have WORKERS Comp, it covers us ON our trailers regardless of who's property we are on, seriously what are the odd of loading and unloading at the office if you are a OTR driver lol

Not every driver or carrier or O/O has Workers Comp or adequate workers comp. Lots of 1099 drivers that that have NO idea as to what 1099 really means.

Their freight, their rules, don't like it>don't haul their crap.
