Im looking into both companies and have talked to a guy which drives for boyd but had worked for maverick prior. I think maverick might pay a little more but he said they double tarp everything. Im really having a hard time deciding. Read post that boyd is hard to get you home but mavericks miles vary. HELP me please!!

You're in Cookeville TN, home of Averitt who runs flatbed too. Why not them?
-
boyd is a good company if you like slow trucks, they also tarp 90% of there loads, they say if you live in the right area they can get you home weekends, good luck with your decesion

I personally would choose Maverick over Boyd. No offense to any Boyd drivers, but the majority of the ones I meet have no clue what's going on half the time. And the slow trucks would drive me insane

Well I pulled the trigger and called Adam at Maverick back and said lets do it. Signed the release forms and will hear in a few days. I already got the ok from them back in May so he said it should go faster than last time and be ready to start in a few weeks after my 2 week notice. A little nervous but feel I made the right choice. Can't wait to start!!
jxu417 Thanks this. -
Both companies have slow trucks.

Mavericks go a little bit faster tho lol.... Plus I think the pay and home time is much better there than at Boyd.
If you get a chance, find Sewerman on here. He's been with Maverick since dirt was shinny... He can fill you in with the ins and outssewerman, ArmyGuy and The Challenger Thank this. -
Uhh.... Says who, you?? Our trucks go much faster than 95% of us actually drive them. Yeah, they don't go 85mph, but WTH would you want to go that fast pulling a 48K lb monster coil? We drive a little slower on purpose. Read the Maverick threads.

So y'alls trucks run faster than 63MPH, but the entire fleet chooses not to??? So what are y'all governed at? 65-70-75????jxu417 Thanks this.

What do you consider a slow truck? My truck runs 68. That's with Maverick. I don't need to drive and faster than that!
