Hmm, Guess we can't edit to update so it seems a reply is warranted....

Anyway...Went to my "Testing facility" and picked up my MVR...Clean as a whistle..Rawr! :)

Took it with all my other paperwork to my school and my representative said "You are good to go. I will call you the Friday before class starts."

Just got home from Wal-Mart. had to buy some paper for my notebook. All set and prepared to start now. That weight is off my shoulder.

I hung out for about 10 mins watching the current students do some backing up. Looks like alot of fun, Can't wait.

    More to come..

    Hey all,

Just an update. It's the weekend and class has been hectic yet fun. Mon-Fri 8AM-4:30PM. Study Homework every night.

First week went by and I must say, the first day we were all overwhelmed by what our instructor "John Ploxa" went over.

Florida Coast Career Tech is the 8 week school I am in and the first 2 weeks covers Air Brakes/Combo Vehicles/General Knowledge so we can get our "CDL Permits" which this school requires before we can move on to the "Actual Driving Range" to learn.

We were given homework this weekend to start reading up on General Knowledge that we will go over on Mon,Tue,Wed. Thursday we get the day off to go take our Permit test at the DMV/Tax Collectors office.

    But...........

We had a half day last Friday (3/8/2013) and if we felt we could get our CDL Permits NOW, we could see where we stood incase we failed. No harm done and it didnt count yet. If we passed even better. We would HAVE our Permits already! :)

Well, I decided to give it a shot on Friday after we were let out of class at 11:30am. Went to my local Tax Collectors here in Jacksonville.

I walked into the building and the Lady at the front desk told me I could take my CLD Permit test by appointment only. Man my heart dropped....I really wanted to be able to try on a Friday afternoon so I knew where I stood in case I failed it and could focus on areas I missed when it really counted on Thursday (3/14/2013).

My number was called and I went up to the desk...

I forget the clerks name but she was a nice Lady. She asked me if I wanted to take the test NOW?

In my mind I was like "Hell Yeah!!" and told her "Yes I would".

She took my Drivers License and took a picture of me. "You'll take General Knowledge first. Station 3." There were 3 computer stations. Noone was on them. I sat down and touched the ENTER on the screen, my name came up and I followed it thru.

    Started my 50 Question test...

I FAILED it by one answer. Can only miss 10 and still pass.....I missed 11...remember, I havn't even gone over Gen Knowledge in class yet so I was happy and disappointed at the same time. I stood up and walked to the counter. The clerk looked at me and asked "Want to take it again?" I was like really?? It cost $10 to retake it...

15 mins later the words "You have Passed" popped up on the screen. (I missed 4 out of 50 questions that time), got back up smiling and went to the desk. "Which one you want to take next?" she asked me.

I told her Combination Vehicles....I think 8 mins went by with none wrong on that test, followed by the Air Brakes and I barely passed that.

So I am now holding my CDL Permit 6 days before we are even due to take these tests and I am very happy. We still have to do the school work thou and take the school test for grade, but knowing I have my Permit already to move on to the next stage of training is AWESOME!!

Hope this wasn't too long to read. hehe

Starting General Knowledge tomorrow...Can't wait ;-)

That's great that you're keeping us updated. It's so exciting, isnt it? I can still remember when I took my first class. Good luck:)
