Well said. Driving like a maniac does not change the fact that there are way too many variables. I figure, control what you can control- you own safe speed. Sorry that this discussion erupted out of some misinformation in your thread, just wanted you to have the TRUTH. Our trucks go 68 mph and are actually FASTER than most large carriers trucks out there on the road today- their drivers probably just do not know it!!![]()

Yep! Ditto!!

Factoring in only MILEAGE pay, uh yeah, your math works out- at least in your equation that you dreamed up there. But you have to remember that you are talking to Flatbedders about miles. Are you a flatbedder?
-
You sound like dispatch when they type on the calculator ! There are a lot of variables you leave out .How often you stop ,do you manage time right like peek traffic times .and delivery times i have bin passed 2 or 3 times by the same truck on a 200 mile run . yes he ran 10 mph faster than me but did no more miles .The faster you go the harder it is to average that speed .A truck going 60 as opposed to one doing 65 will b easier to average close to 60 the truck doing 65 will have harder time average 65 imo it is a lot closer than 5 mph gain . The old nursery rhyme of the tortoise and hare is all to truejxu417 Thanks this.

How about you guys keep it on topic here. The mileage vs speed thing has played out in hundreds of threads. Nobody will ever agree with eachother so let's just drop it please....
-
What WAS the topic ? lol
-
Maverick vs Boyd..... Who can run the most miles the fastest in a day. Lol
-
Can you say misnomer?
-
Back to the topic. I think maverick would be a good choice for you especially where you live.
If you have any questions about maverick feel free to PM me.SHC Thanks this. -
Ok, so regardless if you run 60, or 65 or 90...you're still gonna stop to piss just as much, but if you go faster, maybe you can make it to the consignee by the 3rd time you have to if you drive faster(irregardless you still have to piss as much, so you stop as much). I forgot tarping a load and stop pay(if you get that too), but that is the same regardless of your speed as well.
