Good morning all! I have been driving for CR England for 1 1/2 years and I love it! I do not have one bad thing to say about them, but I wanted to share my story with all of you....I am a phase one trainer. My student and I were in Meredian MS, and had just gotten fuel. I had her do a backing practice and shut down the engine to get out and look at her handy work. She did great. She post tripped out, I pretripped in, and we were going to get down the road. I went to start the engine, and she wouldn't start. I had to get a tow to the Meredian MS Freightliner where it was determined that my truck needed a new set of injectors. I was down for two days. Once we got done at the Meredian Freightliner, I got 60 miles down the road and the engine started knocking really bad. I pulled over, sent a message to Road Service and they said "Shut it down now!" I had to get towed again...to Hattiesburg MS, where I was down for 8 days. Freightliner again determined that the injectors had to be replaced. After getting the truck back and getting down the road about 2000 miles, I stopped in Weatherford TX to get fuel. Once I pulled out of the fuel island, I got two engine lights and a fault on the dash for the fuel injector pump....and again was told by Road Service to get it to the nearest Freightliner, which was in Fort Worth TX. The mechanic again determined that the injectors needed to be replaced. He also stated that he had pulled the tripac fuel filter and he had never seen so much dirt in the filter, he stated that there was so much dirt...that he thought somebody actually threw dirt in my tanks. I have quite a few driver friends, and one of them told me that if I can get the mechanic to state on the service order that this may have been caused by vandalism of another that it may be covered under the comprehensive portion of my insurance policy. Yesterday I called the insurance company and started a claim. There is a good likely hood that my hotel, and other costs will be covered under my insurance...so drivers...if you have vandalism of your truck...get a hold of your insurance policy....they may cover it!

Didn't you already post this, and stated that you ran it with no fuel filters (the shop supposedly bypassed them) and you kept toasting injectors?
Now you're going to claim it with the insurance company? Hope they don't read that other thread, since it likely constitutes fraud what you're doing. -
This is not fraud when the Freightliner in Washington State bypassed the system, and I have had now three sets of injectors replaced and the mechanic that is currently servicing the truck has made a written statement stating that the tripac filter is so filled with dirt that it appears to him that someone put dirt in my tanks. How is that fraud?

Your claim would therefore be against the shop if they bypassed the filters and let dirt destroy your injectors. Negligence by the shop. I can understand wanting to recover the loss though, it's not cheap.
I'm always leery of these big shops selling injectors. Seems like that's the catch-all answer at the bottom of their solution-tree.
Just my opinion, and you know what that's worth.
Good luck. -
Did you tell your insurance company about the filter being bypassed?

E Two quick questions for you when you say tripac do you mean the tripac APU and as far as having dirt in your fuel filter do you mean nasty black dirt?
-
You knew the filters were by passed? or not. just asking.
