Not a trainer, nor do I plan to be. I actually enjoy teaching and showing people how to do things, but for short periods. I can't handle being stuck in a truck with another guy for a couple of weeks. Like the guy I helped out today. He got a 3 stop HON load for his first solo.

Bayle...You like to mentor a driver. I too have no desire to train but I do like to mentor. Think that there should be a mentor program to help some of the "experienced" (I use the term lightly) drivers coming from other companies to help them adjust to the Roehl way of things. I have found that some new drivers just need a little bit of guidence. Have kept a few drivers from leaving and have established a few friendships just by helping out.

    Bigdubber and Bayle Thank this.

How does the tuition work? If you pay roehl 2800$ and get hired do you get it back if you stay their for a period of time and how long did the prossess take from the application to getting to start school.

I agree. There should be a list of driver mentors that the company asigns each new experienced driver a mentor from so the FM's can spend more time managing the fleet.

    From my RDTC acceptance letter:

Add that up, and you are completely paid up at 120,000 miles.

I talk and meet drivers all the time. In my division mostly and we conversate about loads, places we've been and roehl itself. The newbies ask questions and I answer as much as I can or from what I experienced. Most roehl drivers help each other out and if you don't then your a douche. We're also not Swift so we don't need mentors. Of anything roehl needs more experienced fm's not just anyone from mcdlds or restaurant world reading a computer screen. That's reserved for night dispatch
