I just want to be able to drive and support my family. I am having a hard time finding any job around here because all my experience is in trucking. I have a wife and 4 kids to support and everything is going down the crapper quick like. I just need someone to give me the second chance to redeem myself.

well in trucking you might as well hang it up.This accident is too recent.None of the insurance companies will take you. They give the final call who drives.

No, the law is the law and apparently you have no clue what the law is. He isn't going to lose his CDL over a failure to yield citation. However, the simple fact that the citation was issued as a result of a fatality-involved traffic crash WILL affect his ability to find employment. His best bet would be to find an attorney willing to take his case, and do whatever is necessary to get that "not guilty" verdict when the citation goes to trial. There are plenty of drivers still gainfully employed following fatality-involved traffic crashes. Some of them were not at fault, while others were. The FIRST thing he needs to do, though, is to try to prevent a guilty verdict from being entered on the failure to yield charge.

I dont have the money for a lawyer to fight anything. I am broke and on last legs. I guess I am going to be screwed for a longtime to come.

All i wanted from this is someone's knowledge on this and see if there is a possibility of employment at a smaller company or something like that.

I dont know you so i wont slam you, however in your statement above you mentioned that the van made no attempt to stop or respond. Maybe they never thought a trash truck would pull out in front of a vehicle doing 70 mph. I'm willing to bet that if i was on my way home from work in my personal vehicle and you pulled out in front of me you probably would have killed me also. Believe me, poeple pull out in front of me ALL the time. Personally Dump trucks are the worlds worst offenders in this area. Either way, blind spot or not, you dont proceed into traffic unless you are GUARANTEED that it is clear. The van didnt cause your situation, you did! You are lucky the way you got off, its better than Vehicular manslaughter. Stay away from the industry for 5 years then go to driving school and get properly trained.

Get properly trained?? Are you serious?? I have had my license for over 13 years and did most of my driving in Canada. It is way tougher to drive there than anywhere down here. Fact is that I shouldnt have been operating a RIGHT HAND DRIVE truck. Have you ever tried driving anything from the other side of the vehicle much less something the size of a garbage truck??
