Well, I am from salisbury, md and I chose to come to springfield for training. I will be doing reefer 48. I talked to a few people about NER and they told me that so many people have jumped on the the extra nickle that NER is flooded with trucks. So the miles wouldn't be great with some many trucks to compete. I am hearing the average 48 is 2500-2900 @.41cpm. Plus, I lived in the northeast. I would like to see something else and I know what that traffic is really like lol. I think I would like to eventually get into tanker(i have had the endorsement for years on my B)because, Prime is hauling a lot of bulk vegitable from Perdue's oil refinery in Salisbury..

Thanks mdmedic. I live in Philly so I know how the traffic is, terrible! But the fact that I have a son and my home time would be increased by running NER sounds good. I'm just gonna try it out and see what happens. It's my first trucking job so I just wanna get my feet wet.

Well, its Thursday morning. There really isn't much to say that hasn't been said in previous post. However, I think today is the final shakedown day where prime decides if they are going to keep. They told us they have 47 driving instructors routed to spring field with in the next couple days to get assigned students. We were told yesterday that we would pretty much be assigned an instructor and we couldn't change it.. So we'll see... I almost went with a flatbed instructor and he really made flatbedding seem a good fit for me but, in the end he had to choose between 5 of us. I really am open to any division. However, I notice the Flatbedders take a lot of ribbing from the reefer guys... All in fun!
All my sims and CBT's a done, we are doing insurance, aflac, and security training this morning. So basicly, Im looking/waiting for an instructor from hopefully, MD/DE/VA area thats a non smoker... Will post more later -
Have you seen Familyman2013 . We have a BOL . He promised regular updates but disappeared last week . http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...s/204808-my-new-driver-training-at-prime.html

He is more than likely on the road and isn't having any free time to update

I've read several threads that post a day to day happenings and as soon as they get on the road you don't hear from them any more. I would love to know how these guys are doing. I plan on leaving for springfeild as soon as the IRS gets off there can and finishes my return.

Well, it could be a couple reasons.. 1. they washed out. or 2. As soon as you hit the road.. You're working hard. So prolly they are a sleep or they just don't have web access on the road..
As for me. Today was insurance, and security. Late this afternoon. I was officially cleared. I know have my prime ID badge. I am able to goto the millenium building and can actually get in a truck.. So practice pad tmw for me! -
Mdmedicgod, can you give me some reasons why a washout is possible?
