Wyoming port of entry we waited 30 mins in line until a driver took a English test. I was frustrated AF! They said the longer he takes the longer you wait, He had to say the word then define it

I run into Keebeck drivers OFTEN in the northeast.........they CAN speak English just fine when they WANT to..........99% of them anyhow. French for Keebeckers........it's a point of contention and pride; not the lack of ability.Last edited by a moderator: Feb 27, 2013

Being a proud American that I am, I find it pathetic that some of the immigrants of today make little to no effort to learn to speak and understand English!! There are plenty of sources on the market to learn English.
It just boggles my mind that most immigrants will do just about anything to get into America, except learn the language of America!! Why not go the extra mile and learn to speak English? Especially if your career and livelihood depended on it?
Stop playing the "poor me" and "they're being racist" game!! As we all know, that will not fly well if some of us Americans decided to relocate to another country!Last edited: Feb 27, 2013

Just bring it down to what it actually is. you can teach a person to answer specific questions, But the law say's he must be able to communicate in english. That is NOT answer what a sign means. We must have people in these trucks that can communicate especially with Haz Mat loads or something of that nature. it is what it is. you can speed and get away with it for a long time and finally someone will enforce the law and then boom he's a bad guy.
TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Dear mr joeyjunk thank u for u respond..on the first link u post say it all and i thank u again for that on the right bottom has the type of questions a driver should answer in case of an inspection last night when all this drama happend my driver had me on speaker the whole and he was able to answer all that but the deputy did his decision... So if you are so sure you are in the right then fight it.

This is a regulation that needs to be enforced much more often. I've had the "pleasure" of working with many drivers that didn't speak English very well. The results were frightening, in an industry that go as far to regulate form and manner errors on a log book in the name of "safety" allowing a driver to operate that cannot communicate in English to operate is scary.
