Just in case others are looking for a place for the XM/Serius satellite antenna, this is what i did:

Took a 5-6 inch regular metal hinge from a renovation store and drilled the hole out so the bolt would go through and bent it to get the right angle, works great. The wire even hides really well under the rubber around the windshield!

Great...but most Cascadia's are flat across there for better fuel mileage. They sell brackets now that you can put them on your mirrors. Or another driver told me he just put velcro on his and stuck it to the top of the passenger side mirror.

But why? Why do any of that stuff? All cascadias come with factory built in xm all I did was make a phonecall and transferred service to the truck stereo and preesto! Cost 10 or 15 bucks cant remember to transfer service.

That'd be a big negative ghost rider...I'm in a 2012 now that doesn't come XM ready. One I had at USXpress was.

I like the full screen on my XM, don't want to use the truck's. They make perches for the mirror mount for the XM antenna's. You take a screw out of the mirror bracket and screw in the bar. Works fine, better antenna than the little magnet. They sell them at CB shops and some truck stops.

The reason i did this was that i need the antenna for my car when i go on vacation and none of our Cascadias came with XM, it's probably an option. Putting the antenna on the mirror doesn't give adequate reception, it's not high enough. So I did this and it's well hidden, great reception and i can take the antenna off when I need it.

Anyway, I just put this up to give people ideas since I looked around and many people had the same problem finding a place for the antenna.

    Trucail and Stuka Thank this.
