im really just curious why your company didnt hire a firm to do some investagating on the Intersection, Speed factor, Seat belt use and if its a blind spot why is it not posted by the state or county. You should have took it to court plain and simple. The fatal part may keep you from driving rigs again but you may want to get an independent consultant to check into this or your company. something is wrong there. Good Luck RW

And this forum will excuse anything...Now even manslaughter. My, how times and standards have changed. And NO, in 30 years of doing this I have never "pulled out in front of anybody" resulting in death or injury or anything else..And with your snide little comments about "perfect" drivers, you ARE "taking sides"...The OP has some obvious serious emotional issues, like his complete lack of remorse. His failure to accept ANY blame for this "accident" and his sole worry about "what do I do now ?". Classic signs of a budding psychopath. Fortunately, nobody with an ounce of sense (Or good insurance) will touch him. Somehow with all the posts on here about felons, drug testing, tickets etc. and now manslaughter, it's no wonder this business is in the proverbial toilet.

Not questioning the OP's mental health. Not sure how you are doing it either!
I'm sure he feels bad about the deal but do we know the facts of the accident? No!

We do know he has 4 kids and a wife to feed and is willing to work rather than shutting down mentally.
Having this on anyone's shoulders could be too much for most people to deal with.

And in the 30 years of your career you never had a close call?.......That is BS in my opinion.
4 wheelers do suicide moves every day......shoot across 3 lanes to exit skimming my bumper, pull out in front of me in towns.
The list is a mile long.....They need education about trucks and there are more and more trucks on the roads every day.

I am sure if the investigating Officers determined it was his fault 100% he would be in jail for manslaughter instead of posting on here.

Have you ever been involved in a fatal accident? I have. I was stopped at a light when the car hit me.
The Cops impounded my truck for the investigation and i was sent for drug testing and mental counseling.
Did i feel bad? Well hell yes!
Did i crawl in a corner.....NO! Life goes on and bills need paid and mouths fed.

Hard to believe you have been driving 30 years and NEVER made a mistake.

I doubt anyone would pull out in front of a car if they knew it was coming.
I was talking about blind hills and curves.....we all have to do it and you never know what will come blasting at you after you make the decision to cross the road or pull into traffic lanes.
Not every 4 wheeler obeys the speed limit and can be on you in a blink of an eye.

Sorry..Keep excusing the OP. As usual. And I don't really care about "his kids" or mouths to feed" or anything else. He spent most of his posts blaming someone else for his deadly actions. And actually, I have been at this well over 30 years without killing or harming anyone..No citations, no failed inspections..nothing. And that's the way it should be if you consider yourself a "professional". The facts are the facts. And his complete lack of remorse over the death here is what really stands out. Just another example of the lack of standards that prevail today. At least you felt remorse for the person in your accident..The rest..whatever as they say..

Won't matter, your out, the cops control, better hope for a new way to make a living. Trucking is the only Profession I know of, where you can work many years. no problem, and it all goes away in a heartbeat. I can't pass back X rays anymore. But a death, your screwed.

He should have knew he would get some static over his post.He may be sorry that this happened but that does'nt bring back the unfortunate victim. No company will hire him not even the mom and pop companies.Too recent,a fatality and the insurance companies will not insure him, would you?
