All of them? Nope. Friend of mine is a company driver and here are a few of the perks: gets $20 for drop hooks, $20 when he goes to a customer location, can get a motel room any time he wants, made over $60k so far this year, etc.

If you think KLLM sucks now, you should of seen how it was back in the Cabover days. Slip seating so you stayed out 8 wks plus or loose your new FLD flat top with 48" bunk . You had to park truck at nearest terminal for time off. For me that was 700 miles from my house at their yard in Woodland CA. Qualcomm was 4 lines and no one had phones unless you where rich, so you stood in line at the phone bank if DP did not answer qualcomm msgs. Governed at 58mph but had to average 56 to get fuel bonus. Could not skip shift or float gears or you would get a call and warning. Receivers where charging gate fees and you had to hire your lumper off the street or unload yourself. Which means you usually had to have around 300 bucks for company expenses just to do your job.

And with all that I thought they where great because they where my first OTR company, so I knew jack about trucking. They paid students 1 to 2 cents a mile more then other training outfits and you only had to stay on a training truck for a week or 2 if the trainer thought you where ready to go it alone they gave you a truck. And they ran me at least 3k a week without fail , which was just average miles in those days.

Drivers are treated way better and have better equipment these days and get home more but are regulated to death. Drivers are making the same average pay as when I started driving decades ago because back then you could run 4500 miles a week as a solo without even breaking a sweat. You slept at shippers and receivers not plush T/S and mega terminals sitting around waiting for a 10 hr break to be over.

I like Kllm, trucking companies are like clothes you gotta find the right one that fits you. I could talk bad about some companies but what's the point if you like that certain company that's great my 2 cents isn't goin to change ur opinion. If you really wanna help student drivers tell them what to expect and just get exp and find what's best for them after they learn the business.

Hey Carolina king86, do you or did you drive for KLLM? I am interested in them and am trying to get information on them other than from their website and recruiters since they are obviously self serving to get you to work there.
