Yea man,I do not miss those days!
Working for a private carrier i don't have that hassle anymore. -
i will tell you this and you wont like it ....
my uncle had a fatality 19 yrs ago in 1994. a man found out his wife was about to leave him for his best friend. he took himself and all 4 kids and drove like hell, seen my uncles truck coming and crossed and hit my uncles truck head on. all 5 in the car were killed. he has never had a ticket or an accident since and there are many many companies who will not hire him because of it. some have due to the fact that if it were his fault, he would have been in jail and not driving a year after the accident and since then. i will tell you werner and knight did take him. but it wasnt easy. but since you were ticketed in that accident, its unlikely even they would take you . but you can always look. -
omgosh thats A HORRIBLE STORY.......

You failed to yield and yet you still put blame on the other driver?pattyj, CondoCruiser and Marksteven Thank this.

This is exactly the reason for some of my harsh replies and no i dont need to hear that it can happen to anyone. I'm well aware of that, i do have a Pulse you know. The fact that in 29 years it hasnt happened to me is def. part experience and luck. Its not just the accident but rather the attitude part. Personally as another stated, my driving career would have ended cause i wouldnt have the nerve to get behind the wheel again. We have had a few of our drivers involved in Fatals where they were cleared of any responability due to 4 wheelers running stop signs, rear ending our trailers and crossing multiple lanes of traffic and slamming head on into one of our trucks. However most of our drivers that were involved have admitted to having Anxiety attacks when they hit the same stretch of road as well as when the first major storm hit here. However the O.P.has the most immature nervy attitude to drop blame on a dead person, absolutely Pathetic. If you are a MAN, suck it up, you were charged. was the van driver citied for speeding? and yes victims of fatals are charged and citied, no they obviously dont recieve a citation but it is noted on the report. Man up and take all the responability.Last edited: Mar 2, 2013
Ghost Ryder and double yellow Thank this. -
This.
Because of the OP's negligence, someone is dead. Not only that, the OP is trying to brush off this accident like it's no big deal and blame it on someone else.
AND THIS ACCIDENT IS RECENT!
Instead of worrying about how he's gonna go back into a CMV, the OP should be thankful he's not in prison -- which in my opinion is where he belongs.Marksteven Thanks this. -
Believe it or not, some of us do pay attention to traffic. Telling me you hit a vehicle because it was in your blind spot flat out tells me you weren't paying attention. Mistakes in our industry that end up killing people are career enders. Your pisspoor attitude is the reason why lawyers have a field day in court over lawsuits and penaltys. Someone is dead because of your negligence and your 'mistake', yet, you show no sign of any remorse for the victim or their family. In my opinion, you belong in prison and not in a CMV.Marksteven, double yellow and pattyj Thank this.
