Just checked out my check for this week online. This is for the week my truck broke down. I ran 120 miles and then spent Mon-Thursday night in the hotel in Sulphur La. Friday I picked up my truck. Saturday afternoon I loaded and ran to the Loves in Fair Play SC where my mileage ended for the pay period. Total mileage for the week was under 900. There were about 5.5 hours that were added to this check from a couple of weeks ago for weather and traffic delays. Check grossed $1400. Not bad for 900 miles and 4 nights in a company paid hotel.

March 2013
3/4 - 3/10 Gross 1125.99 Net 843.17
3/11 - 3/17 Gross 1326.56 Net 981.55

Feeling lazy so I did not include miles/local pay. Miles run about the same anyway. -
Kind of quit posting in here because feelings of being a braggart even though my intentions are to help potential future employees of Superior Carriers. After all the horror stories I read about trucking and it not being a very good paying career and all the abuse that goes on in this industry, I had become really scared about making the jump into trucking. I did a lot of research on companies and had narrowed it down to a select few. I never even considered pulling tankers because I figured that was something I would not be able to find a job doing until after getting several years under my belt.
I started with Superior a year ago so I only got in half a year of salary with them for 2012. I will say though, my weekly checks were an improvement over what I was making at my last job. Fast forward to 2013. Starting back in January, I was interested to see what my annual salary after a full year with Superior would be. Obviously we have not reached that point yet but we are at the half way mark and I wanted to report my first 6 months gross salary for any future truckers considering Superior Carriers. So far, as of 6/28 my YTD gross is $29,477.89. If you double that I am on track to make right at $59,000 in my first full year of trucking.
I know we will have some slow spells near the end of the year, but I don't expect it to be too bad as I stayed pretty busy up until December of last year. Even then I still stayed busy enough. I want to thank PED, you know who you are, for telling me about Superior and taking the time to meet with me that one time and also thank Superior for giving me the chance to drive for them. I feel very fortunate to have gotten on with a trucking company that treats me very well and pays like they do.
PED, I have not talked to you in a while but I hope you are doing well and are having a successful run as an IC. -
Can you share with us how many full days you worked including local days, during this first half of 2013? And how many total miles you drove? I benefit by crunching yours and wsyrob's numbers!
Thanks!Last edited: Jun 28, 2013
