When you sign the bills, at the shipper, it is your baby and your responsibility. Always has been, no matter where you lease on.

Some people don't want to work for the perk, or be responsible for anything.

Well if you talk to the guys on E-LOG you will see that they lost alot of freedom..Last week i dropped my trailer and went into town. The DOT says i can do this and i DO NOT have to LOG IT...but L/S is above the LAW.They give guys 1 hour. After the 1 hour the guys have to go ON DUTY or back to there little parking spot at the smelly TA...there is more to life than piss infested truck stops..That is not being traeted as a ''professional'' IMO..

Well if thats the case i will have to go get my ''security gaurd'' uniform on.

I will put my Old Yeller sweatpants on and my white t-shirt that says I LOVE LANDSTAR in big pink lettering.I will have my Landstar Hat on and my pink flip flops on sitting in my Lawn Chair with a Double Barrel shot gun...You can't miss me.When i go into the truck stop i will be next to the claw game picking my butt....:biggrin_25524:

Its your baby, your responsability to ensure your cargo get from point A to B without incendent. And the way there jacking and stealing cargo now adays, cant really blame them. there even starting to hit flatbeds now. Its not yesterday anymore, times have changed and dont see it getting any better in the near future.
I hate to say that but it seems to becoming the norm to steal to make a quick buck than work for it and earn it!

So if your ''home'' with the wife and under a load. You have to route your family's time around a landstar load.?...That would suck...I will have to call L/S in the morning on this one...I refuse to play ''security gaurd'' on my days off....I HAVE A LIFE TOO.....:biggrin_25516:

The FMCSA has never said that a company must allow personal use of a CMV, only that a carrier may allow it. LS does not allow personal use on paper logs, only e-logs.
BTW, if you want to bring up the rules and regs, you may want to read the part where FMCSA states as to who controls the movement of the truck, while under lease. It is not the owner. Your name may be on the title, but you gave control over to the carrier, when you leased it to them.
