Our qualcomm was down for about 10 hours yesterday, but it's up now.

Weird. My Qualcomm did not go down, however, SWIFT sent me a message apologizing for the Qualcomm issues recently and said it was qualcomms database that was at fault.

So it seems my good fortune was not meant to be. I was sent to Wheeler Ridge, CA on a "reposition" run. I saw a sign in Lathrop that said there were no more "deadhead" miles. Anyway, I got there and almost immediately got a load from Van Nuys to TX. It was to deliver on the 6th. I called the on duty DL and accepted the load after I explained I would need to do a 34 along the way. It was a real pain to pick up. It took a long time to find the trailer and when I did the landing gear was in a hole on one side. The load was really heavy so when I was cranking it down it kept lurching over. I finally got it hooked up and went to the scale. I was overweight. Back I go to the dock to have the load repositioned. After 2.5 hours I was on my way. I sent in my loaded macro and got a message that I was running late. I thought that was odd.
I decided to head to Fontana as I was getting short on hours. When I got there I went in and asked dispatch about the running late macro. I was told the load had to be delivered by the 4th. I told them that my preplan and load information said the 6th. They send me to Mira Loma to T call the load. What a pain in the butt. It was pretty much a wasted day. Now I'm on a 34hr reset.
It's a good thing I cut my hair off...I can't pull it out now.Bigdubber and UncleMeano Thank this. -
Sherif, that's not cool! I think SWIFT knew exactly what they were doing on your last load. Probably just wanted someone to get it out of LA so a team could pick it up and go.

UncleMeano and Bigdubber Thank this.

Hey Sheriff thanks for the posts, I can relate, I'm in week 7 of my truck driving career, with no schooling after retiring from the military. I believe the military experience helps with dealing with the unexpected on the road. I happened to fall into a great driving job with a local family company with good pay,new equipment but without the headache. Swift doesn't sound terrible to me, but it sounds like a pain in the arse at the same time. Good luck and keep up the posts.

Why is there a BUNCH of truck drivers who have these tats on their arms with skulls, deaths heads, just a lot of stuff about death? It would seem that Swift has hired a mercenary army of SAS trained killers to drive for them. If it weren't for the fact that most of the guys who have them can barely walk because their are so obese I might be afraid to stay at a terminal. Perhaps their specialty isn't hand to hand combat, I bet that's it.
Just an observation.Bigdubber Thanks this. -
I saw a driver not too long ago wadle past me at the truck stop with a skull tatoo on his shaved head. He was about 5 feet tall and 5 feet wide. Total bad@$$

Ever get into a situation just push them over and run/walk away, it will take them two minutes to get off the floor, then ten minutes to regain there breath. I wonder if it is like cow tipping!
I should know I am a cow myself, however you would only have 30 seconds with me, but don't worry I can not run in sprints so if you get more than ten yards from me I will deem it not worth pursuing you.Sheriff1/6, Bigdubber and JetAgeHobo Thank this.
