I am thinking of leasing to Landstar and I have talked to some of their agents before and was told that if I was to lease with them to give them a few days and they would try to build me a triangle of lanes that I would like to run.

If I could afford my own truck, I would goto Mercer... Only because Landstar is going to ELogs and no longer excepting older trucks.

Sorry to hear about your injury but glad to hear that it wasn't because of something TMC did to make you quit. And also, thank you for your service! :occasion5:
I spoke with the recruiter Friday and some parts of my app were screwed up so we straightened all of that out but by the time we did, it was almost 5pm so he will be calling me tomorrow to give me the good or bad news. I'm really hoping it is great news.

I don't own my own but I did for about 7 weeks and had it leased to Landstar before. I was ready to get first load and wife found a lump near her breast and she was going crazy thinking about it and that drove me crazy I told them that I was going to have to be home for a while and they sent someone after the trailer to use. I decided to put it back on lot to see if I could get a bite on truck while she was getting biopsy and getting it removed. It was sold about 2 days after I put it on lot. Then after they called me that is when we found out that she was alright and nothing to worry about. I would like to get a truck and give it a shot but I do not have the flatbed experience recently. Mine is from 8 years ago and I would go with Landstar for now just for the fact that I could take their securement class and pull for them for awhile. As for the elogs I have never used them and that is a new story. Have a great night. I am sorry for the post but my computer will not let me hit enter button to start a new paragraph.

No problem Popcorn69.. very glad to hear your wife's lump turned out to be just that. I am looking at CRST Malone because they take you even if yo dont have flatbed Ex.. I have some thru TMC but it has been since 2011 since I have pulled a Flatbed so I will take their class, if I go. They don't care how old the truck/trailer is but I cant afford a truck, due to bad credit history. I am looking for a flatbed and equipment now, so if I do go, wont have to pay their $185 a week RENTAL payment on a trailer I will never own. Also, they use paperlogs and no qualcomm in the truck...all dealings are over the phone. Other than that, they are set up like Landstar but just flatbed's, no dryvan's.

Hold on....CRST does have dryvan's but their flatbed devision is the only part of the company that uses Contractors.

I started around March2011, after working for SNI for 3+ years and was hurt 2nd week of May2011. I made $825+, every week that I pulled a flat for them and was home every weekend. I live in Chattanooga, TN. I loved the hard work and the pay was good. I was Just starting out so, I would have went up quite a bit, if I would have stayed with them.

What is the reasoning behind having to run their CB? Just asking never heard of that before.
