Are there any companies that are at least half way honest? At least do what they say they will do in orientation? Thanks![]()

in short, no, well maybe. Usually the smaller ones are the better ones

Two companies that seem to have the best reputation are System Transport and Melton Truck Lines.

Where is home ? Work for a great place , but limited hiring area. And are select.

Once you have a year Lonestar is great too.

I think sometimes new-hires "hear" things at orientation and misunderstand. Then, sometimes orientation personnel "fluff" things a bit.
Side Box Thanks this. -
Home is Massachusetts.

Haha, yes...they do "fluff" things, but there is no misunderstanding when told "position X has weekends off" and when you start running the position, suddenly no one knows what you are talking about when you bring up the fact that you have worked 3 weekends in a row, and you were told before accepting the position that you would have weekends off. If weekends off is not part of the deal, just say so from beginning. Don't lie about it! Just one example...drvrtech77 Thanks this.

I've noticed "weekends" in this biz can mean 48 hrs, not necessarly Sat/Sun. Could be Tues 9pm-Thurs 9pm. A lot of times, you gotta' leave out at midnight Sun to make your Mon 7am appointment, that's if you had the "weekend" off. Bottom line, you're married to your job.......if you're a truck driver.

I know at my company weekends off and 12-14 days out aren't automatic either. If I didn't say I wanted to be home on a particular weekend, or after 12-14 days out, dispatch assumes I want to stay running. Which in my case I do.
