'I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires.'

    Susan B.Anthony (1820-1906)

OOOOH, That's Good! Man, what a line. I could have used that one over the years.

Why would you question David Parker's faith? He is one of my,,,,uummmm I mean Jesus' most faithful servants.

There is a difference between a God-fearing person and someone who says "eh...I don't wanna go to church because I don't like to be told what to do, so Ill just do what I wanna do, but for the sake of getting into heaven, Ill say Im a Christian because Gods a good guy and he understands and all that. I'll live my life the way I want and nobody is going to tell me any different....but then at the last possible second and breath of my life, Im going to utter a prayer and ask God for forgiveness because thats like a free pass that everyone knows about"

And just like most quotes people try to use for some inspiration, this was too misquoted...the entire quote was to defend her partner using a Womens Bible at a suffrage meeting; Considering the fact that many / most men at the time were against women having any voice whatsoever in anything
"The one distinct feature of our Association has been the right of the individual opinion for every member. We have been beset at every step with the cry that somebody was injuring the cause by the expression of some sentiments that differed with those held by the majority of mankind. The religious persecution of the ages has been done under what was claimed to be the command of God. I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do to their fellows, because it always coincides with their own desires. "

Wish old Susan B. Anthony could take a look at this. It's a pretty good example of how the Bible is twisted against people, women in this case. Take a look on GoogleVideo (24 min) or You Tube (in 3 parts):

"God has Given the Church Bible Women to Preach & Pastor"

This one turns church people as red as if they were already near those flames.

Not sure what bible you claim to read. "Once saved, always saved" isn't a false Baptist doctrine. You can find that in the Bible itself. I'd point you to chapter and verse but having you look it up yourself will be a good opportunity for you to actual read what's written.

Yes read the bible. There is much in it that can improve your life even if you are a non believer in the concept of a higher power.

But if you want me to believe in supernatural concepts then you need to stop saying the world is 6000 years old and that the bar-code system is the mark of the beast.

The churches seem to be such purveyors of statements not based in fact and corruption, that they have done more to thwart conversion then Lucifer could ever do.

lol hmm, I myself would love to see the verse in the Bible that says "once saved, always saved."

lol...all righty, then how old is the earth, 4-6 Billion years? The 6000 number is supported by a wide number of religious scholars / geeks. The Bar Code being the mark of the beast is something that is from faaaaaaarrr out there that many people use as a hail-mary in religous arguments, hoping it will make some sort of point......which it does not. There are lots of very religious people that try to tie in all sorts of stuff from the Bible into real present day life, from secret codes, to God being a pimp with three wives....etc. I've heard the mark of the beast being all sorts of things from tatoos, to money, to credit cards, to bar codes, to implantable ID tags...etc.

Fact is fact...according to scientific people. But if you really have a faith in an all powerful God, then ANYthing is possible, not just what you think can possibly happen and what is 'absurd' because the scientists don't agree with it. I mean look at carbon dating, its INVENTOR has said that the dating method used in its process is flawed and it is not accurate.

    Start here...

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

And where does the phrase "once saved always saved" fit in to this?

Im not saying that if you believe in God, you won't go to Heaven. What I am saying is that just because you turned your life to God, that doesnt mean you can screw it up royally during the remainder of your life and still be OK. One can turn to God at 18, but live a life that is very far from God.
