I just want to warn others about how Gordon treats female drivers. My driver manager used to say I had "terrible luck" with trucks. No matter what truck they put me in, it would end up in the shop for weeks. I was down as much as driving. Always at the Pacific shop. The maint office people there were truly rude, and after I had had enough (almost 6 months of making no money and being treated like dirt) I complained to HR. (I was heavy haul.)

Big mistake. They had my truck when I complained. It was in for headlight repair and tire/wheel issues. This took 4 days. I picked up the truck and took my 105,000 load south on I5, where in about 15 miles I had a catastrophic loss of brakes. The good news is that I was paying attention and noticed that every time I put my foot on the brakes I lost air, and it did not climb back. I took the next exit - just before the trailer locked up. I had done a brake check before I left the yard. Tow truck got there and fixed it in two minutes. When I asked him what the problem was he said, "Oh, the air hose wasn't fastened. It was just resting up against connection."

    I quit immediately.

    Just sayin.........

No, it was the line coming out of the compressor under the hood. When I looked at it pretrip it looked fine but it was just resting there. It had been unscrewed.

So they sabotaged your truck because your a female? If they didn't want a female working there then they wouldn't have hired you to begin with.

Too many holes in this story. No way you got 15 miles if the shop really disconnected the hose.

I can list about 6 problems with this story, however, why waste my breath when you will have excuses for each one.

Want to blame someone, blame yourself.

Would a company like Gordan offer heavy haul to drivers with a year or less experience? Or is this a set up for failure that seems to be discussed often?

I'm a female driver,Gordon like many other companies treat every driver equal, they don't just dislike men or women, they dislike us all equally is what im saying.MW40,you're reading too much into this.Don't take what Gordon does too personal.Had this been a guy,he would have went thru the same thing.I never did care for that color blue trks they have,it clashes with everything, lol
