Depending on the company you are with and if they use DAC. If so they will list this as a preventable accident on your DAC.
NavigatorWife and mje Thank this. -
It has it's perks..We get to see the "best of the best"...Sure..Fat lady's walking their dogs, fender benders in the lots, and sweatpants-LOTS of sweatpants. Sometimes I take pictures and we pass them around at the racks...Can make for a good laugh. Most truck stops are like Walmart's on the first of the month.TRKRSHONEY, pattyj, CertifiedSweetie and 3 others Thank this.

if the company of the truck your scratched calls your company... that is 100% a PREVENTABLE ....
I was backing into a very tight dock, and I tapped a light that was fixed high up on the wall, and when i tapped it lightly, the light of course shifted and it broke the dam bolt that was holding the light up, so there was the light, hanging by the wires but still connected to the cover, but just needs a bolt, and the customer called NFI ( where I was at the time ) and NFI put a preventable on me.
Some companies may do this to you ...mje and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Backing excellence doesn't come right away and several of those you saw backing could be first year or newer drivers. When I started I remember taking up to a half hour sometimes when backing in some hairy and tight areas, getting out to look several times, repositioning several times and starting over several times. Didn't give a darn what other drivers thought. Never had an incident and if I were starting over I'd do it all the exact same way again.
When you see those clowns in the truck stops driving dangerously, speeding, etc., take out your phone and make a short video clip of them and send it to their safety department. It works.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 9, 2013

The other company will probably contact yours for insurance purposes and you will most likely get a preventable accident on your record. Even though you were not ticketed or it wasn't major, it was an accident and you were at fault. Probably won't get fired over it, but you will have a preventable accident on your record.
mje Thanks this. -

I would personally try to limit those little mishaps. I think you are limited to three little ones at most companies, however they all get reported on your DAC no matter how little the mishap.
