first of all Buzzard I commend you for backing your husband 100 % for driving otr,,, I think that is so great that you are there for him wow. that should make him proud.. but I have a question on some of the post that are being put up, if you don't mind?? you say that they are getting 72 hours at home for the weekend? is this true and he gets miles? I live in Perrysburg Ohio right near Toledo Ohio. and I have been interested in Smith for awhile now and before I call them I need to know about the home time, I know that you say for sure about any time at home but any info will help and the more I know the better it will help. and if I do call I will mention Brians name I thank you in advance. old rock n roll
ya that's me with my glasses on lol and I would love to have a long weekend at home
Buzzard2157 Thanks this. -
Hhc133eng, thanks for the well wishes. Yep, methinks he is liking this gig a lot. He enjoys being by himself and LOVES the long hauls with nobody to pester him, LOL. And yes, Smith will give you all the miles you can handle. If you are willing to run, they are willing to run you!
Hey there, Old Rock -- awwwww thank you so much for the nice compliments! I love my DH and there's nothing I won't do for him. It's a team effort, dontcha know
I just got finished making him a huge batch of homemade trail mix -- fiber is the trucker's best friend! Later on today after I get some sleep I'll make him a meat loaf and cook some chicken breasts, then get everything all packaged up and loaded into his li'l fridge for him.
So far, he typically makes it home sometime Friday, unless he gets held up somewhere or in traffic. This weekend he got in around 18:00 yesterday (Friday) and they have him scheduled for a delivery in Scranton Monday around noon. Google says that's 234 miles, almost 4 hours drive time. However, he's pretty hot to trot, so he'll leave out of here around 01:00 Monday. While he really doesn't have to leave until about 08:00 Monday, it's a client who will take him as early as 08:30, so he prefers to do it that way and get done early so he can hit the road again.
So while they will run the willing guys with 48 hours weekend time, if you prefer 72 Smith will work with you
I really do appreciate you offering to note Brian as your referral source, and thank you in advance! If you would like to talk to Brian in person, please let me know via PM and I can have him call you. He's always happy to help a guy out! By the way, you look a lot like Brian when he has his glasses on
