Update on my Blue Parrot. A little over 5 years old and starting to have pairing problems. Could be my new phone. Could be me. Stills works perfect after getting it connected. Now I have learned to use the phone to pair instead of the blue parrot. Maybe Santa will bring me a new one if I am a good boy this year.
New Bluetooth Headset?

I had to replace my blue parrot and instead of getting a blue parrot I got the blue tiger. I can't wait for it to die so I can go back and get a BP. The BT is supposed to be able to pair with 2 phones but its a pain. I can't wait till it breaks.

One more vote for the BlueParrot 250-XT. Replace just the battery, instead of the whole headset, once the battery life starts to go down. Don't bother with the new "+" model.

Even if a Blue Parrot only lasts a year or so, consider how well it served you during that time. I have had mine for over 2 years, and it still works great. Even if it died on me before now, I would still get another, considering the great performance I got out of it.

I would rather pay $75 for a quality piece of equipment, that only lasts a year, than pay $50 for a piece of junk that lasts 5 years. Just say'n
Brickman Thanks this. -
Tried a Bose model (small, in-the-ear like normal BT headsets are) - it works pretty well, just make sure it 'points' toward your mouth. A little more pricey at $150 and the battery life seems to be kinda short. But if you don't like the 'Mission Control' look...
They give you 30 days to return if you aren't happy. -
This past Saturday (23 March), I finally purchased one of the space cadet headsets (over-the-head with a boom mic).
I got a RoadKing RK400 from Love's. The thing that drew my attention to it, as opposed to some of the other brands, is the charging port. The RK400 uses a micro-usb port for charging purposes. That works out GREAT as my MP3 player and, what was at the time, my current Bluetooth, uses a micro-usb charger. Therefore, there was no need for additional clutter or cords handing all over the truck.
Thus far, I have been pretty happy with it. Initial test calls to my voicemail sounded pretty good and subsequent calls to and from other people have gone very well. From my wife to fellow drivers to businesses, no one has complained about background noise, even while driving with the driver's side window rolled down.
My previous Bluetooth was a Plantronics Voyager Pro and it had gotten to the point that I needed to charge it up after every conversation. When I first purchased the RK400, I charged it up and today was the first time I had to put it on the charger. For me, that has been another plus for it. I realize over time, the battery will begin to loose its charge but for now, I will enjoy only having to charge it once per week.
Love's has a 30 day return policy, so if I don't like it, I can return it, but as of now, I don't see myself returning this headset within that 30 day timeframe.
YMMV

Blue Parrot. On my third one in four years. Each time, the earpiece is what breaks and warrants replacement. Tried the others. They all got returned.
Bought mine on Amazon new for about $70 with free shipping. Why do people pay $100 plus tax at the truck stops? -
I bought the plantronics voyager pro hd for $89 at frys. I drove with all windows down and called my girlfriend, I had to tell her they were down and I was driving 70. It was a little hard to hear her with all the wind but I was able to understand everything.
