swampdog is ok for a tuneup/echoboard/etc, but a known fact is radios that need major work done are outsourced, ray from rays electronics in west memphis goes by there everyday and picks up and drops off radios that swampdog takes in for repair but cant/wont fix and ray brings them back to him as ray lives down in the woods below x42, so why not take it straight to ray and cut the middleman out? swampdog received his early training from ray as an apprentice, ray offered to send him to school to get an electronics degree and further teach him but swampdog declined. again he is ok for normal stuff in a pinch, but otherwise I would run on west and see ray in west memphis next to the petro.

I install my own. But all my work is done locally by a very good technician with about 40 years experience.

Good advice! The guy I use that I mentioned above, says Ray does very good work. He told me when he quits/dies to take my stuff to Ray. (He also likes J4 at Hoods Trk Stop ( Ex 61, I44 in MO) My tech/friend also has radios sent to him that they can't fix by shops around the country. One of which you guys have mentioned here as a very good shop, I won't blow his cover. He does great tune ups, but he sends his broken radios to my friend/tech. I've been playing around with CB for about 40 years. I am not a tech, but I can recognize a good one from a sorry one, the one I use is as good as I ever seen.

Yeah we are lucky in our area to have two really good techs within a couple hundred miles of each other. (3 if you count the one in MO)
