Too tired? Your doing it wrong if you are tired, lol. Hard to get tired when you work 46-50 hours a week(OT after 40;)), home every night, in your own bed, lol. Yes, there are some companies though that push their drivers and the drivers work close to 70/week.

I have been with McLane Foodservice for almost 21 years (July). I work 4 days a week Mon- Thurs. Out 3 nights/week. I will be 56 yrs old in April. Due to the longer distance of my route 1500 miles, I only unload one trailer per week versus one local and one remote for most other McLane drivers. I average $30 per hour. I like my job.

I know of a few positions in the Denver area that might be what you are looking for with day shift. You are correct that most of the positions that they have are night shift and do require driver unload and a good amount of stops. I think they use outside driver recruiting companies for most of the positions.

My friend worked for Core Mark, which is like McLane. He didn't like the constant unloading by hand. He did meet a lot of Women clerks though, he said that was a plus. Then again he does have 3 baby mamas....

There is a McLanes trailer parked out by the interstate with a huge banner on it saying Hiring CDLA drivers asap. 22$ an hour! That's weird to me because I thought they paid you by the stop,case,mile...

The dollar/hr is based on the average for the component pay if converted to hourly.

100k sounds good i averaged a hourly rate of 28.70 last year mot weeks not working more than 55-58 hours. I cant see myself driving someones truck making 40k a year i tried that its no fun i like the people. I'll probably make use of my endoresemnets and finally get into fuel hauling eventually but while i still feel like actually working food service is the best way to make miney

My son-in-law drives for McLane, company supplied helper, all night work, he delivers to NYC and all 5 boroughs, he makes just under $100,000 a year and loves it!
