Thanks everyone for your info/advice. Look forward to working with you starting next week. My wife and I will be at Markham, IL Mon thru Weds then off with a trainer for our 170 hours. Wife is going with any trainer that's available so that we can get back together asap.

Yea. Which test are you talking about? If it's for the CDL, yea, a little tougher. I had to do parallel parking. Also what ever you do, don't let the truck roll back any while stopped. I saw several get sent home for that.

We have our CDL. I was asking about the road test US Xpress makes new hires do during orientation.

I can only speak for Tunnel Hill,GA Service Center. The orientation process was smooth and easy. The staff was very nice and easygoing. The road test was simple, they had us drive the truck for like a half hour on the interstate, some local roads then back it into a parking spot back at the terminal. Just make sure you are safe when driving, monitor your mirrors, use your turn signals, g.o.a.l. before you back the vehicle and make sure you DONT let it roll back if you stop on a hill. I did it on an auto-shift so it was a piece of cake, the only thing is, if you stop on a hill with the auto-shift you have to hold the brake and gas otherwise when you try to take off it will roll back until that turbo kicks in. Good luck!
