The hardest ''maneuver'' in trucking is simple but very difficult..This maneuver is leaving your personal life behind. It is leaving your loved ones behind for weeks and weeks. It is trying to balance trucking, personal life and a family. We as drivers have a very high divorce rate.It is also a very hard maneuver to stay in shape and not let your health go to hell and get huge and be half dead, like so many drivers.

So IMO it is this Maneuver that stresses drivers out the most.It plays into there safety and driving skills. This feeling messes with guys minds and they start doing stupid stuff, all while in a HUGE HURRY to get back home..

The post I directed this to is quoted in my post. The op is specifically referring to drivers becoming impatient when he is getting ready to park at a truck stop. When I'm parking you can talk to your heart's content on the CB to me. I won't hear you. I turn it off for a reason when I pull in. I don't care what you have to say about my parking whether it takes me one time to get in the slot or a dozen pull-ups. I'm simply not concerned with what others think. If that riles a driver or makes him impatient, it's his problem, not mine.

As far as the signals, etc., I agree but it's another monster altogether.

When someone starts to criticize my backing I either ask them "what was the over/under on the pull ups and who won?" ... or I let them know that I do 2 shows nightly and a matinee on Saturdays ... tips are appreciated.
