    Hey HG,

I don't know why....cause I've been in constant contact with Patti and she keeps reassuring me that everything is still a go. We're still supposed to be up there on March 9th. :biggrin_2554:

LOL... I think I'm chasing you back and forth between threads! :biggrin_25525:

I'm not going to give up on this. I did good in school, and I know I'm a hard worker, so I'm just going to talk them into hiring me!

Seems like maybe the difference between you guys is one is done with school with CDL in hand and ready to go during the no hiring time, and the other has 30+ days until they are ready to be in Tacoma for Orientation when this internal audit is done. Hmmmm.

..Maybe this is the first test to see if we've got the determination to make it as a trucker! 8)

It won't do any good at the moment. They placed a freeze on hiring of any drivers that do not have several years experience until they get this training review completed. From what I have heard, 80% of the accidents this year were by CDL school grads and they are freaking out. Keep in touch with Patty or Steve as Don is not here anymore, but it will be a while .. they are pulling every student they have had since they started the program in 2006 into Tacoma for additional training now. We are stuck here this weekend for it. If you can't wait for IDC, GTI is suppose to be a pretty good company for teams as well.

It's pretty frustrating, being that IDC was one of my top choices.

Don was their safety guy, wasn't he? Ouch! Must have been sacrificed to the corporate gods. :biggrin_2551:

Don was in charge of Driver Development. He was over all the trainers, trainees and the training program.... and personally I agree about the sacrifice. We will miss him as he was always smiling, always had good things to say and was always willing to answer questions when he was able to. I just think he had too much on his plate... But that is just my opinion sitting way outside.

For what is worth.. I think that it stinks what they did to you. March is one thing... but shutting you down a week before you were suppose to start school sucks. I cannot imagine how adversely that would have affected us. We had quit our jobs and moved our house into storage and everything. We would have been devastated.

Hopefully I'll hear some new scuttlebutt tomorrow while we do our training and I'll be happy to pass along what I hear to you.

We are getting screwed by this to.... because of this we only got 1700 miles this week and were spending today out delivering loads that ordinarily would have been handed off to a local driver....... :-( Our paychecks for this week will be about $350.00 each and by the time they take out the school reimbursement, taxes, 401k and various other insurance deductions out.... well... IT WILL SUCK!!!!!! And if we don't pass the simulator testing the way they want it done, we could be detained here in Tacoma longer for extra training..... UGGGG!!! We have driven nothing but the northwest mountain routes through every winter storm they have had since we started on our own . And you know what is ironic..... they routed over Shasta and the Sisqou's (sp?) through a blizzard to get here!
