    Good afternoon all. I am looking for some direction on where to get started. I really would like to get to know and understand radios a lot more. Basically I can hook one up and check swr and that is about it. Any info on books to read or Web sites would be greatly appreciated. I thank you in advance

    Thanks for the info thus far. I was looking into getting the cobra 29 lx. I currently run the 29 nwst wx. Would I be getting a better radio with the lx or not?

    I like my 29NWST but be warned, the #### weather alert tone can wake the dead.. And there's no way to adjust it...
