We are on our way to Memphis to see our "new" truck. 2013 t700 that became available last week but we couldn't see it because it was in the shop. There are older trucks out there. We've seen them in Lancaster and Decatur the past couple of weeks.
Anybody else waiting for a lease truck?

Not beating anyone but think about this for just a moment, when someone leases or rents you a piece of equipment and then controls your income or life it is not a good thing at all.
crb and Raiderfanatic Thank this. -
For the most part, they do not control our life, and yes, in a way they control our income. Let me ask you this, if you own your own truck and lease on with a carrier, in some way, do they also not control your income. All in all, it is a business and you make it for what you want. The horrow stories that I have heard from other drivers that have turned in their trucks, most I take with a grain of salt. Some I have seen at a terminal turning down loads, and I will accept one that they did not want, a round trip load, and when I returned back to the terminal, they are still there waiting, and I ran a 800 mile r/t load. So tell me why they are not making money.Trucking Popeye, Bigdubber, fr8monkey and 1 other person Thank this.

Not talking about being leased I am talking about the leased and hauling for the same company, most o/o that pay for a truck can go as they please to anyone if they have authority but these lease deals for my understanding is that you pull company loads. Am I correct?
Rent a rigs from megga carriers are for one purpose, they shift operational cost to someone else.Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
Swift is testing a new program where us L/O-O/O actually have a broker that we can call when Swift does not have any loads in a area. We do the booking an agree to a price. Then we book it if we agree. Many on this new board are very happy.Trucking Popeye Thanks this.

And you point is .... ? ... What do I care if I'm pulling their load or not ... I do the business model. If I can clear a profit on their loads, what do I care.Trucking Popeye Thanks this.
-
OK that is not too bad but still a company, any company so I am not being a specific brasher of any company still controls your access to loads.
and lanes, too include your revenue. -
Because they have you locked into it.

And? Why does that matter?Trucking Popeye Thanks this.
