It can take a good amount of time and it is something that everyone should do everyday or in the very least take some time to figure out to expand your business or grow it in a positive direction.

Correct, going after direct clients requires a whole set of things, almost like setting up a brokerage firm. It can be done but it's the long route to the solution. It's like setting up a sales team, factoring company to get paid, insurance etc.....having said that and along the same idea - how about this, any know direct shippers like Home Depot etc.... in which to obtain direct lanes from. I've tried Walmart and they are pretty strict. You need to submit application in certain amount of time in not you're banned until the next year from reapplying. At the moment I don't have my current authority so that cancels them for now at least. They give you like 30 days to submit application in order to haul for them, it's an emailed application but no one to speak with if you have any questions. Again, the idea is I have capacity to provide and I'm trying to get away from the cheap freight. I have the funds to support diesel, maintenance, etc....meaning I have resources but that the margins/pay scale needs to be there. Looking for a lead into this market/shipper/carrier willing to pay for capacity.
aiwiron Thanks this. -
I am looking at other avenues but I need to deal with a fleet of tractors which I need move.

Just kidding with you. Not sure what the hold up is you should not need a sales team to go approach customers or a factoring company. I guess your trucks are not running now so you do not have any drivers if you want to lease onto someone you will need drivers.

They are the mega carriers for Home Depot, I have my own authority I get all my freight from Contrak. 85% of my business, am pulling Home Depot Freight.tractorfleet3 Thanks this. -
I have seen a couple of fleets with risinger brothers out of morton il but cant tell you what the rate is

You can surely find someone to go direct to, get yourself onto some email lists etc, LiL more work LiL more responsibility, leaseing 5 trucks to some at 20% is like having 1 run for nothing, I just get on the ol cellular phone and call call call....I'm hauling for a place that I called for 6 months b4 they gave me a load....now they blow my phone up
