[SUP][1][/SUP]Greatwide Logistics and Cardinal Logistics Management announced this week the two have merged to form a transportation company that will be one of the largest dedicated fleets in the country and will have annual revenue that exceeds $1 billion.
The company will retain Cardinal Logistics Management as its name and will employ roughly 5,000 drivers. Itll work hauling freight in a variety of industries, including grocery, bulk food, retail, metals and building products.
Centerbridge Partners a $20 billion capital management firm is the majority owner of the combined company, and John Tague will be the fleets chairman and CEO.
We are excited that this transaction creates an industry leading logistics company that is supported by a strong customer base, experienced management team, best in class company drivers and owner operators and a differentiated technology platform that enables creative, low cost solutions for our customers, Tague says of the merged product.
Greatwide is the No. 17 fleet in the CCJ Top 250, and Cardinal is No. 72 see the full list here. [SUP][2][/SUP]

I worked for Cardinal's Walmart Produce Fleet in SoCal back in 08, great job. Sorry I left.
-
yes... waiting to see if we are changing names again... according to what I was told greatwide bought them to change their name to cardinal... because they have got a crappy industry name.. and they believe rebranding... AGAIN will fix that..
-
There goes the neighborhood......
-
The phrase that jumps out at me is at the end of the last sentence " low cost solutions for our customers" sounds like Greatwide more than Cardinal's business model.
-
Greatwide is without a doubt a very dysfunctional company...all they're going to do is ruin the cardinal name...
case in point...the operations mgr who was in charge of one of the Florida Walmart accts, when they lost the account..they promoted her to district mgr...
that should say something! -
No they didn't promote her to district manager.. Its regional .. and yes she is doing the same thing she did in Florida running all the good operators off getting a bunch of trash.. I know her and she is a piece of work but only if you replace work with another 4 letter word..nonstop Thanks this.
-
That type of promotion happened at my now ex-employer. Cosco account was lost due to the account managers ineptness and, after the account was lost, they promoted her to a different(larger) account to manage. My ex-employer is not Greatwide or Cardinal.

Just once it would really be nice to hear anyone on a thread like this admit that maybe the reason everything didnt go perfectly COULD BE AT LEAST PARTIALLY their fault. The company is crooked the company is incompetent! Greatwide, landstar or any other company gets run down here yet if you look you will find a lot of operators doing very well( of course they are going to be called just as crooked as the company).
Its really amazing how many of the "companies" problems disappeared WHEN I CHANGED MY ATTITUDELoke, Highwayroller99 and pes2 Thank this.
