Hi, I have been in trucking for about 6 yrs total. I started as owner operator with my business name SKE Freightlines back in the late 80's with a refrigerated trailer. I had this business for about 5 yrs until I hired someone to pick up a load in New York
and deliver here in Seattle but my business came to an end when this driver totaled my new Freightliner 425hp detroit.
I had to take a local job unrelated to trucking. I came back to trucking in 03/10/08 and drove OTR for Werner Interprises dry van division for 14 months and then I quit to take care of my ailing mother for a while. I am now ready to go back to trucking and I am thinking of applying at knight Transportation but not sure if they do OTR or 7
western.
I am new to this forum and it looks like a real nice site.

Research these as options:
System Transport
trans-system (tanker/reefer/flat)
Apergis Transportation
Interstate Distributor (3 divisions-van/reefer/intermodal)
Watkins & Shepard (3 Washington terminals) -
Thanks for the info I will look into these, much appreciated!

I can give you insight on how knight works. It's similar to a franchised car dealership. Each terminal is independently operated. Most terminals have several options you can choose from. I'm a regional driver and mainly run east coast out of the Midwest. I would highly suggest looking into knight. They are by far the best company I've ever drove for.

Thanks, I noticed they have an online app. at Driveknight.com to fill out and a terminal in Kent Wa.. I am in Lake Stevens Wa. so the Terminal is not that far, about an hrs drive. I know nothing about the terminal here but I am sure I will find out soon.

I run out of Indianapolis, Indiana. The only complaints I've heard come from drivers who are picky about where they run our the loads they will take. I've been in trucking for a good while now and have come to understand there is a certain level of bull #### a driver just has to put up with. Some of our drivers refuse to go to the east coast, given the population density of that area of the country it stands to reason that there's a lot of freight moving there. Refuse that and you refuse a lot of money on the paycheck. That's noones fault but their own, yet they still wanna play it off on the company. Just my opinion, but i make $1000 a week on average. Just do your job is all I've got to say.
Rhonda64 Thanks this.
