A Super 10 is just 13 with two gears missing from the main box and a different shift tower. ( Well, actually an 18, because you split the bottom gears, too.)
Hills?!? EVERYBODY knows there's no hills in your state!![]()

ROFL, whatever. He did a run to Valentine the other day. You know the road, and YOU know those hills.
Hammer166 Thanks this. -
go 13 you wont regret it. should go right in place of a super 10 a straight 10 from a super will need drive shaft modification.
put a 13 in and you will never look backMJ1657 and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
I really appreciate the advice. shop called today & they are putting in a used super 10 at my request. it was rebuilt by them just over 300,000 miles ago. from a long time customer of theirs. the engine went out & he sold it to them. they are parting it out. I am losing $1000,00 every day. so time is the most important to me. plus my dedicated account that I am on, I just started 8 months ago & I am needed. I have had bad luck lately & do not want folks thinking they cannot count on me. what I just found out was the guy at the shop responsible for my trans, lives right next to my dispatcher. so the deal is $1000,00 for the used trans & $300.00 labor. after reading all this info tonight. I am going to talk to him about a 13 speed. I may just well put one in, if they have one, if not. well I just got to get back on the road.

Sometimes you just have to do what you have to, instead of what you want to. I never minded the Super 10's, they were easy to drive smoothly, and that was important when I ran team years ago. And the fact that a split pretty much had you covered from 35 mph up was nice too!
Good Luck!MJ1657 and heavyhaulerss Thank this. -
I agree with Hammers post. I went from a super to a 13 myself.
I wouldn't want to go back but a super is not bad to drive at all. -
I could have really used another gear between 9 and 10 on my super10. Spent a lot of time at 1850rpms, 9th gear, N14, 87-88k gross, and burned a lot of fuel. Too many rpms in 9th, lugged too much in 10th. It seemed like nearly 500rpm drops in the high gears.
bullhaulerswife and MJ1657 Thank this. -
That is also my only real complaint on the super.

I know all too well on the gears & the rpm's. been in this truck for 13 years. always manage over 6.0 m.p.g. at 65 i'll get 6.5 easy. 1 other reason why I am going with the 10 again, besides avail immed, & no modification, is I do not plan on keeping this truck. I mean it is a 95 with over 1.5 mil miles. so I don't want to plan & spend as if I am going to keep it. I know ya might think that after 13 years & over 1.5 mil, that it sounds like I am keeping it
but, it all has just been working out great the last 13 years, so I don't fix what ain't broken. from 9th to 10th I have to rev it all the way before shifting to 10 & with my lil 11.1 365 h.p. it ain't easy. I felt so lucky & blessed that while my truck broke down 180 miles away from the shop, I was able to drive it all the way. a tow bill would of taken a good chunk of money I can use for the swap out. you folks on here are the best. thanks for your time.
bdinkyboy1, bullhaulerswife and MJ1657 Thank this.
