The company I was with was the in house carrier for IKO shingles, out of Chicago. Their bundles were wrapped in a plastic, then palletized. The only loads that were ever tarped for them, is when you got one of the curtainwall trailers.

try andrus out of st george, be prepared to run hard, and be treated badly, but if you can handle it and are a self starter and can make it happen it they will hire newbee's

    ROFL...

I read all of y'all' replies...

This had NOTHING to do with tarping ($15.00).

If you go to a company and you lie to them when you apply for a job and get hired and they find the lie latter on what happens...

DUHHH, dey ght fired frum dare jobe..."

I have NO problems tarping, well maybe with tarping with antiquated tarps that have not been sealed for rips and holes and only $15.00 (BTW these tarps that caused the entire load to be rejected were already in place, I only needed to secure them)...

BUT for a company to lie about how often...I hauled glass out of Kingsburg Ca for ...all glass MUST be tarped...

There is a difference between whining and standing up for what is politically correct.

    So here is another thing...

I dropped the REJECTED load and equipment (truck &...) @ the address listed on the business card that they made for me.

The address is in Fontana Ca. They charged me a recovery fee of $198.00. + $90.00 for safety equipment (you gunna put your head in a used skull protector and washed but used safety vest and the $108.00 for the UA/phys

    ROFL...out of $702. I got $107....

No they, according to them, only hire the top 2% of drivers.
    Experienced.
No NOOBs (PRONOUNCED Noobs as in boobs, NOT noob as in newb)

    Well,
I got pictures and what have ya to follow through with the DAC if need be.

Y'all have an awesome new year

Curious, uglyvegas, when did you work for Andrus? I work for them now, yes I run hard, but is that not why we are here? They do not treat me bad at all.

It's been a couple of years, I did work for them for quite a while and toward the end it was OK. I would probably still be working there if my dispatcher hadn't died, and then they lost a dedicated run I was doing.

The point I was getting to was when I was new with the company they gave me the worst loads (lots of grocery unloads), equipment (first rig was a 98 with 1.1million miles), schedule (at one point I was out 13 weeks straight), and shippers and recievers. Did they do it to "weed out the weak?", who knows.

I am not an Andrus hater by any means, they are a good place to start and some people continue with them for the long term. Just not for me.

    Snowshoes Thanks this.

Ok, I see what you mean, I just recently left Andrus, not because they were bad, I was recently offered a job running Linehaul/dedicated from my hometown to Phoenix, Grand Junction and Montrose, and Boise....with some other minor runs...home every other night and weekends. But I do agree Andrus is a great starter company and do be prepared to run hard. Right out of orientation I was given a 2013 Volvo, ishift, And 99% of the time I had a load before I dropped at stop 90. James just recently purchased a bunch of new volvos.

was it just a drop yard or a terminal with truline staff? I can half understand if it's a drop yard because they still have to get the equipment to a full service terminal to get inspected. if it was a terminal with an office and truline staff then it's a little ######. however some companies only allow you to turn equipment in to certain locations. I suspect this is one of those.

All trucks have cameras. Dead head miles are paid at .25 cpm.
There a short haul company. They short drivers on miles actually driven on every trip.
    Much better companies out there.
