That is why I got a high deductable BCBS health plan tied to a health savings account. I got full coverage for me and wife and our current premium is $499 a month. The traditional 80/20 type of health plan will bleed you dry with premiums you mention. No thanks. I can stash money away in a savings account and pay all the little stuff with FULL tax deductability of the premiums and the savings account. No having to do the old 7.5% of adjusted gross before out of pocket qualifies for full deductibility. This is probably the one thing that George Bush gave us that really is a good thing.

BCBS is a non profit only for corporate tax filing requirements. Doesn't mean that a lot of money doesn't makes it into the executive's pockets. Most folks have a misperception of what a non profit is actually is. It is only related to tax filing.

They were around since the 80's under the name Medical Savings Accounts.

True, but they had limited availability. It was really opened up by congress under Bush. Now Obummercare wants to reign them back in.

Seems to be some confusion here. I get my information from the IRS not places likes Forbes. I have seen nothing to be a real problem with them.

Forbes seems to think they are limited for instance.

Here is a link to another one that shows no limitations.

    http://www.medplanaccess.com/hsa/overview.htm

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), introduced in 2004, have become a broadly adopted method for financing health care. The reason: HSAs usually provide a better way to minimize overall health care expenditures.

Here we present HSA overview and commentary which we hope to be easy-to-understand. For more in-depth (and less easy-to-understand) HSA information we recommend the most recent IRS publication on the subject.

HSAs will continue to exist under full implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010 (ObamaCare).

Southwest heavy haul in Phoenix has had salaried full time employees for years. Last year they hired a bunch of new drivers (myself included) then in January they said we would all be cut to hourly and be part time.

So many drivers quit that the few that stayed had to be full time. I quit (for several reasons but that was one of them).

How does the president get unemployment down? Force employers to have several part time employees doing a job that one person can do....

Bottom line; Obamacare will cause all current and past INS rates to climb.. This was part of the current administrations plan,,,they want everyone on Obamacare and they want everyone to turn into dependents of the Government... Call me a liar all you want,,, Research will tell you the truth. I have heard from and read about, many Dr's quitting and heading over the pond. Once there, they will set up a plan for payers, like a golf course,,you know, "members only". I for the life of me, can not understand why this country's leaders think that Socialism is better than Capitalism. Many country's have failed at Socialism so, why are we heading down that road? I know, because the socialist in this country want a "new world order"...lol Good luck with that!

I for one would have no problem with the government medical care.

My sister has it in the military.
The ruling class has it in Washington.

My father is on medicare and loves it.

My insurance company is capitalistic and already is chomping on the bit for more money for the CEO.

    Ask yourself this:

Why are we the only civilized country without government health care?

There is NOTHING in the Constitution that says ANYTHING about the Government and healthcare! I don't want or need my Country, the one I fought for, to provide anything for me or my family. I sure don't want them taking my money without my permission to pay for someone else's healthcare, laziness, fuel, rent, mortgage, cable tv, car payment,,,,or anything at all! This country was founded on Biblical principals, if I need help,,,I go to my church, family or neighbors...so should everyone else. If you don't believe in God, that's fine, there is still family and neighbors.
