Interesting rebuttle........ but I doubt it.........an intelligent driver whom currently holds a co. position would be a fool to accept / allow himself transitioned to a 1099 contractor under his current pay scale. He will automatically absorb double the tax burden plus health care costs. Toss in a comp. policy and the driver is broke.

I see legal issues here too. A lease driver driving a co. truck? I'm sure the IRS has thought of this already and have the guns loaded........

The 28 hr is the new designation for "part-time" under the Obamacare plan. Most companies have the "full-time" designation as 35 to 40hrs per week.
Hopefully employeer's will stay with the current full-time status; however, my wife works for a company and had full benefits she worked 35 hrs per week.
Two months ago she was given 26hrs per week and lost her benefits. The cost for health care through COBRA is $900.00 per month for both of us.She is seeking other employment and I will graduate from Driving school in a couple of weeks and hopefully get on with a company that I can participate in the employee benefits plan. Plan B is to wait for 10/13 and apply thru the state ins. exchange for coverage starting 1/14.

Yeah the IRS has had their guns loaded for a while regarding having drivers classified as 1099. My son is an IRS field agent and he loves to see those come across. He starts drooling and eyes get wider and he gets that evil Vincent Price laugh.

I am surprised, as far as they went on Obamacare, that they didn't classify part time as less than 10 hrs a week. Can you just imagine how that would mess things up further?

I thought changing part time to 10hrs/week was the next amendment to the law?

insurance, by its very nature, is socialism

everyone pays in, a few collect

the insurance companies know that out of 1,000 people only 100 get sick, but they hedge their bets on everyone being scared of outrageous hospital bills

so they bilk us daily out of money

as if they arent making enough money, here comes obama and his nonsense, thereby MANDATING healthcare

    insurance companies are loving it

corporate america will think up various ways of further screwing workers, politicians will further tax workers, increased costs all around, without increased wages

No, MSA's are set up so that all money put into them if not used by end of year, it goes away (Insurance co. keeps it). HSA the money contributed stays until used by the account owner.

    @ Roadmedic:

I for one would have no problem with the government medical care.

My sister has it in the military.
The ruling class has it in Washington. You seriously think that YOUR so-called "Ruling Class in Washington" is going to be put under the same plan (or as I like to call it "heaping steming pile of bovine excrement") then you really are delirious...

My father is on medicare and loves it.

My insurance company is capitalistic and already is chomping on the bit for more money for the CEO. They may be, but soon the INSURANCE that that company offers will cease to exist, yeah, the thieves will run away with the golden-parachutes, but what about all of the insureds of that company??? Hmmm??????????????

    Ask yourself this:

Why are we the only civilized country without government health care? BECAUSE THE USA IS NOT A SOCIALIST COUNTRY! DOOOH!!! Earn your keep Man, that has always been the way of life here. We help the less fortunate- we are a very generous society. But the mindset of "oh, poor little ol' MEEEEE.... why can't the GOVERNMENT just pay for everything for MEEEEEEE????? I surely can't be expected to go out AND WORK for the things I want/need/desire can I??? Wahhh!!! Please Mr. President, take care of MEEEE! Make everyone who works hard for what they have give up what they have and be forced to be dragged down to the level that I am at! Thats whats FAIR afterall!!! [/QUOTE]
