Got a new Galaxy 959 with a KL203-P Amp.....had my radio supertuned, got new coax, a new Wilson 2000, and an Astatic 636....when talking with my buddies I get feedback in my external speaker and they get the same. Or its real scratchy. I turn my rf power all the way down and my Mic gain set at 9 o'clock. Sometimes it works great...other times not so great. I cannot figure out the problem. I know this could be a really great set up. Everythings grounded good. Really aggravating knowing I have all this money in it and I cant get it to work smoothly. My cb guy says that he tuned it with a 2 watt carrier and maxed out the am power to help the swing. ANY IDEAS?

Having the talkback on can cause a feedback in the speaker.

The newer Astatic mics use a different voice coil than the older ones. They are not the Quality they used to be.
On my Galaxy the Astatic was very tinny sounding and would get feedback from the talkback.
I switched to a Ranger SRA 198 and it was a great improvement. No more tinny sound and much deeper tone.
I don't remember where i bought it but got a deal for 20 bucks.
Bell's CB has them,

My connex 3400 does the range thing with the 636L Mic...Talkback power is zero, Talkback is just switched on...I've moved the ext speaker, covered it with a towel, just about everything except change mics. I will buy one later though.
