Hey ya'all, Grettings from southern cal. I just finished 160 hr. school and would like some input as to where NOT to go. So far, it would seem that there is a trend to stay away from, Western Express,CRST, C.R. England Werner and swift. Any body care to weigh in on this topic? I'm a 55 year old veteran with a perfect driving record and don't need to be routed anywhere for, "hometime".. This makes me golden until I admit that I have 4 misdemeanors that are 8,9,&10 years old. Then I can almost here them sigh over the phone as they say that they can't help me...... But they will accept felon's after 5 years? So. If ANYBODY has a suggestion on where to apply for my first job. I am all eyes! I love to drive and have, after holding a class c license for almost 40 years have driven 1,000,000 miles already and still can't get enough. Thought it would make sence to have somebody else pay for the travel. Been to 36 states and saw the points of interest. But to me, the fun was in the drive getting there and moving on.
back it up straight.

welcome to TTR, have you talked to Prime?

Thank you. nice to be here. I feel the true answers to my question will be found in this group of tried, tested and true drivers who have paved the way for men like myself who want the benefit, and the experience of those who have driven the assfault for the thankless throngs of consumers who take you,(and soon to be me) for granted. Yet, I digress. No, I have not tried them but the list of those who would make the mistake of passing me over is long and dignified. Thank you for your reply. I look forward to more insight as the interest in my querry begins.

There's nothing wrong with Western Express. It's a good company.
Navajo has a terminal in Chino, CA.
Apply with all these companies with an online application, then if you don't hear from them, follow with a phone call. Apply first...phone call in a few days.
Paschall Truck Lines will hire you also.
Apergis Transportation might hire you.
Also try System Transport.
Ignore the "experience required" on the websites and apply anyway. -

My best friend worked for swift for 9 years and said he made killer money with them, loved them, but got tired of being gone so much....being gone doesn't sound like a negative for you though. Having said that, here's my 10 cents worth...every company out there has people that love it as well as people that hate it. Its all in what you put in it. If you learn how to get along with your dispatcher and fleet manager, then you've won the battle and you'll be happy.
Good luck in finding that perfect spot that you seek!!
