13 speeds are easy. Only difference is a side splitter... lift the go peddle to activate the half gear... then slide back and shift as normal to get into the next gear.

Jumping in here for a sec. I have noticed one thing about a lot of Nebraska carriers... they seem to be a cut above most of the others out there. I am with Fremont Contract Carriers. I have never really heard any negatives about Hill Brothers. I know they have some pretty good looking tractors there. But in general, it seems like a lot of the Nebraska carriers have got their act together for the most part. And it seems Hill Brothers is one of them. I am not so sure about the big ones.... Crete and Werner. That is like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. They are just too big and not flexible enough for me, nor am I chomping at the bit to service some of the customers they cater to.

I guess it really only comes down to what you like to haul, who the customer base is, and where you like to run. If I didn't like where I was at, then I might give HB a second look.

I've spoken with some of their drivers and know one of their lead recruiters on the company driver side. They've also started accepting new drivers right out of school too.

I'm a recently approved power only carrier with them, but have yet to pull one of their trailers. Been busy with some other stuff.

Hi Cowpie, my husband and I have decided to go back otr. I did alot of research on HB and FCC. Both companies to me are top notch. However, we chose FCC, we should be going to Nebraska next week for orientation. We have driven for a large company before, and we were just a number and not a name to them. I think we have made a very good decision.

Welcome aboard! I like these guys. Mike Herre owns the outfit and is a top tier kind of guy. Like any other carrier, they have their moments, but overall it is darn good. Hope to see ya. Look for truck 999, blue FL Columbia and give a yell and let me know how it works out for you.

Hi Cowpie, thank you very much for your reply. We are both very excited to join FCC. We will be arriving on this coming Sunday evening. We will definitely look you up once we get on the road. Again, thank you so much for welcoming my husband and I.
