Last time I went through Virginia they still had the 2 hour limit in most of the big rest areas with signs posted. However, they have also built truck only rest areas that are designated as such and not time limited. Virginia is not unique in this as many of the turnpike plazas in Illinois also have time limit signs in the truck parking area. Enforcement is limited if at all according to the convenience store managers I've asked.

Woodbridge is famous for the wake up call, the little wide spot rest area west of Manassas and a few other special spots but if you are not parked correctly they will wake you up and then give you a ticket.

They would make you move regardless of your logbook status. I remember that. I think it was stopped as a liability issue for the state, no?

I lived in Prince William county for many years, that 95 rest/scales/inspection is nortorious for bang bangs on the door, if drivers are really stupid and park on the ramp when they get back to go most times a welcome party from the Commie Wealth greets them.
