Not to mention you WILL get terminated if you continue to have low mpg. So uts kinda like this here, get the fuel bonus or get fired. Now with that in mind its not difficult to get the fuel bonus,it starts at 6.75mpg I think and if you cant get that AND you're not driving 68 everywhere idling too much etc then its probably a truck issue and they will try to get that fixed. They dont hold you responsible for low mpg when its a maintenance caused problem.

I've never gotten mine above 6.5 since I've been here, and no one has said a word to me. But several other drivers who drive 2012 models in TCD said they can't get much above that either, unless they drive 55, and I will not do that on a 70mph highway. Tried it a few times and way too many close calls with being rear ended, its not worth it.
Ive been told by a couple guys, one a trainer, that the 2013 models get noticeably better mileage than the 2011 and 2012 models.
However, given that even empty my mileage is not very good, my truck probably has an issue, especially since it's had tones of issues, but no one can ever seem to fix them. Right now my transmission stalls out at random, but it's already been in the shop 4 times for that problem, and nothing has changed. I'm tired of messing with it, I'll let Freightliner deal with it when the transmission goes out completely. -
Thsts why no one has said anything because your truck has issues. If your truck wasnt a shop baby it would have been brought to your attention. Ive had more thsn one driver complain to me about being given that talk so I know they still do it.

Looks like he pulled the ol' "I'll turn around here" trick lol
jxu417 Thanks this. -
I ASSUME that he was intentionally trying to do a U-turn on the interstate grass median.... Unreal some of the stupidity we see out there LOL

I wonder how low it has to be before they say something. The seniority sheet here in Gary shows every current driver in the fleet and their mpg as of last week... There are very few drivers with over 7. I saw a ton of 6.7 - 6.9, but less than 10% have 7 or higher.

There are several steps they take before termination. First thing is after a very poor quarter (don't know the exact number) they will give you a "talk in' to" and make you fill out macro 30 something every time you fuel. If this fails to inflict change they will turn your truck down to 62 mph. At this point you are on the short list for termination, but they still won't let you go until the have thin the herd.
If you are getting poor MPG due to a mechanical problem I would highly suggest you get it fixed.
